This is Cozumel's first and only World Class Championship 18 hole golf course.
It was created by the Nicklaus design team and incorporates the natural
habitats of the island in its design and construction. This course is built around
Cozumel's native trees, red mangroves, and natural wetlands in order to preserve
ecologically sensitive areas. There are only three areas on the golf course where
golfers playing another hole are visible, allowing the golfers to enjoy the peace
and quiet of the natural surroundings. We feel it is a wonderful play for the
vacationing golfer! 
Playa's beautiful championship layout is carved out of the lush Mayan jungle.
It is well bunkered with many tight holes and doglegs and meanders between hilly
and flat terrain. Be prepared, this course plays long with many interesting and
challenging holes. The course was designed by renowned American architect, Robert
Von Hagge and uses large depressions around the golf course as a special design
feature. In addition to Playacar's infamous iguanas sunning themselves around
the course, it is also a bird watcher's paradise.
