MIAMI (04/04/03) - Carnival Cruise Lines is introducing a new price guarantee on groups effective for all sailings departing August 15, 2003 and beyond. This new program guarantees that if an agent has a group within the final payment period and the best fares available through individual reservations fall below the group's quoted rate(s), Carnival will provide the difference to the guests in the form of a shipboard credit.

"Agents have been experiencing a lot of frustration in trying to sell groups, particularly during periods like the fall where pricing can be quite volatile," said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president. "We've been listening and are very excited to roll out this new program which should allow agents to book group space with confidence, knowing that if the prices drop in individual reservations, we will protect their group business by providing shipboard credits equal to the price difference."

Under the program, when rates go down and a group is protected with shipboard credits, the "frees" will also be protected at the standard one free berth for each 15 full fare guests. In order to have the group protected with the shipboard credit benefit, there must be sufficient inventory available to re-book the group and amenities will no longer be applicable.
