The Carnival Corporation announces
the exciting addition of sophisticated Golf Simulators onboard the
Carnival Inspiration, Carnival Triumph and
Carnival Destiny and Carnival Victory as well as
Holland America's Prinsendam, Zuiderdam & Oosterdam
Sunrise, FL (05/19/03) - Elite Golf Cruises, LLC is proud to announce
its latest onboard offering - New state-of-the-art Golf Simulators
that enable golfers to virtually play some of the world's most famous
courses while onboard and then actually play some of the finest
courses available in almost every port of call with our guided golf
excursions.
The new high-tech system is the latest addition to the Carnival
Families' comprehensive fleet wide golf program, which offers professional
instruction, equipment, excursions and professional tournament services
to thousands of sailing passengers each year.
The new golf simulators, from TruGolf, feature beautiful, world-famous
golf course renderings enlarged to lifelike proportions on a 9'x12'
screen and made playable to golfers using their own clubs (or rentals)
with precise club and ball tracking system. The software uses the
immensely popular Microsoft Links-"the world's best-selling
golf sim." Each nuance of a golfer's swing is captured in the
simulator and using real physics and technical accuracy is then
instantaneously entered into the Links golf software to give "real-time"
simulations of the shot on the simulated course.
"We're delighted to add this innovative element to our popular
golf program, which, in addition to featuring some of the world's
most beautiful and challenging courses, now includes this fun and
exciting indoor golf alternative," said Bob Dickinson, Carnival
president. He added that golf simulators will be incorporated into
other Carnival vessels if met with positive guest response - The
Carnival Destiny and Carnival Victory are also due on line shortly
as well as Holland America's new Oosterdam.
Featured courses on the indoor Simulators include Scotland's legendary
St. Andrews; England's Belfry Country Club, home of the 2001 Ryder
Cup; Ohio's Firestone Country Club, home of the World Golf Championships;
North Carolina's Pinehurst Country Club, site of the 1999 U.S. Open,
and Florida's Bay Hill Club and Lodge, home of the Bay Hill Invitational.
Thirty more gorgeous world-class golf course simulations from Hawaii
to Spain to Japan are also available to passengers in the new simulators.
This compliments the first class courses available for shore side
excursions in the Bahamas, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada,
Bermuda as well as Panama, Belize and even Europe.
Shipboard lessons also incorporate the latest "V1" teaching
technology featuring split-screen, side-by-side comparisons with
golf's greatest legends or the hottest names on tour to help golfers
of any proficiency level improve their game.
Equipment rental, including top-of-the-line woods and irons, and
Nike Air Accel golf shoes, along with personalized take-home video
recaps of shipboard lessons are also available. Pricing packages
include your knowledgeable golf pro escort, priority tee times,
round-trip transportation that is safe and timely and all cart and
green fees.
