EMPLOYMENT
As the only comprehensive Onboard Golf Academy in the world, we are continuously in search of high quality teaching golf professionals who are certified and driven to manage a dynamic and exciting Golf program on the world's largest and most popular Cruise Lines. We are currently accepting resumes and applications from teaching golf professionals who would like to join the Elite Golf Cruises team as an independently contracted golf professional or guest pro group leader.
OVERVIEW These positions call for very independent individuals who have the capacity and patience to teach at ALL levels and the ability to interact professionally with the Cruise Line guests, all ship staff and port personnel. Onboard Golf Professional candidates must also possess the motivation and business skills to operate our on-board operation in its entirety, from self-promotion to instruction, coordinating shore excursions and onboard retail.
TRAINING PROGRAM All qualified professionals sail on a 3-7 day training cruise with an existing Elite Golf Professional. Each Golf Professional Trainee will receive instruction on the operation of the advanced teaching technology and all mandatory reporting requirements. All professionals will also attend a 2 day training program in Elite Golf's South Florida corporate office.
ON-BOARD PERKS In addition to the exciting travel, golf and revenue opportunities, each of our golf professionals will be provided shared accomodation and enjoy "limited passenger status", three meals a day in the staff mess or passenger eateries and any necessary emergency medical treatment. Elite Golf logo uniform shirts and hats will be supplied at cost for use during all business hours and shore excursions activities. There are virtually no onboard expenses except gratuities and personal shopping.
PROCEDURES The golf professional is wholly responsible for maximizing his/her teaching schedule to accommodate passenger requests. Golf lesson centers vary from ship to ship. Some vessels offer an outdoor teaching cage with breathtaking ocean views as the backdrop and others provide sophisticated Virtual Golf Simulators for instruction, competitions, club fitting and Nike Golf retail opportunities. The golf professional shall organize and accompany passengers to and from the contracted golf course on port excursion days and be prepared to facilitate and assist ALL clients regardless of their level of skill. The more passengers encouraged to attend, the more opportunity for additional revenue via equipment rentals, product sales and gratuities.
COMPENSATION INCENTIVE PLAN The compensation potential for these positions is virtually unlimited. It is based on the individual's motivation, energy, sales ability and attitude. Commission checks are distributed on the 1st and 15th of each month and are calculated according to your onboard sales efforts. Gratuities earned throughout the week are paid to the golf professional in cash after each sailing. Commission checks may be direct deposited to a U.S. checking account. For "non U.S." citizens, a "Direct Deposit Payroll Only" account may be set up for your convenience. All Elite Golf Independent Contractors are responsible for paying their own Tax liabilities and we strongly encourage personal savings and retirement plans.
REQUIREMENTS FOR YEAR ROUND EMPLOYMENT

Have verifiable Golf Skill and instruction background
Proof of a satisfactory medical physical, required by Cruise Line (at your own expense)
Current Passport (www.travel.state.gov)
Proper C1/D work visa for non-US / Canadian applicants (www.travel.state.gov)
Participation in the Elite Golf Cruises Training Program*
Completed and signed employment agreement (provided by Elite Golf)
The purchase of Elite Golf uniforms at cost
Basic to advanced computer knowledge - Email and the ability to forward attachments, along with basic Microsoft Windows (particularly Microsoft Excel) familiarity
A minimum of $300.00 in cash
Sport Jackets and coordinating slacks for evening wear and/or one nice, dark suit
Onboard leisure time clothing that is suitable for a country club environment
Ability to complete a continuous 6-8 month onboard contract
May be subject to the Cruise Line's random drug testing policy.
A personal cell phone or calling card for your own personal safety and convenience is suggested but not mandatory
Please note: Professionals with a valid passport will have priority consideration *Upon completion and certification from your Onboard Training Program, all golf professionals will be assigned their own dedicated vessel, if available. Golf professionals will also have the ability to join another current onboard golf professional to serve as Assistant Pro.
